Yamilka Viñales, Head of the Middle Education in this territory, stated that in the past the learning average decided the institutional destination of a student, but now the grant of scholarships is not only for application but for real possibilities of regional labor location and student integral knowledge and behavior.

May is the decisive month to apply this new procedure. The School Board will make an analysis to grant the scholarships at classroom level and will consult the proposal with the students in those assemblies, to listen approaches in favor or in against, taking into account the student integral knowledge and behavior.

Later on the School Board will present the definitive proposal for its approval and finally the school will informe the students and parents the results to grant the scholarships to the ninth graders who will conclude their studies next June.

This procedure doesn't include the current methodology for the entrance to the Vocational Military School Camilo Cienfuegos, the National School of Art, the Polytechnic School of the Interior Ministry and the sport schools, due to these centers demand specific vocational aptitudes.

The stage of tests to enter to the Vocational Institute of Exact Sciences began last 14 with the subject of Mathematics and will continue with Spanish Language, Literature, and History of Cuba.

The interviews to those students that want to study at the Computer Science Polytechnic Institute, the Senior High in Pedagogical Sciences and the School of Instructors of Art will be carried out next April 22.
