In the current edition, the jury will award two pieces among the nineteen that were presented from the fourteen provinces in the country -seven of them were nominated in the category of Conservation and twelve in Restoration- and it will give a metal prize to the investor, project maker and main executor, state or private owner, according to each case.

The sculptural set Bosque Los Héroes (Heroes Forrest) in Santiago de Cuba, the Tomás Terry theater (Cienfuegos), the Merced Church (Camagüey), the El Árabe restaurant (Province of Havana) and a private home in Pinar del Río, will be some of the pieces that will compete in the care, management and use that have been given to their places.

Places such as the Triolet Farmacy Museum (Matanzas), the Student House from Havana University (Havana City), La Habanera sport brands shop (Las Tunas) and the Casa del Changüí (Guantánamo) will compete for the first place due to the high quality of the investment and implementation as well as due to the values of the original work

Margarita Ruiz, president of the National Council of Cultural Heritage, pointed out that this award highlights the important work of specialists and creators related to the preservation of heritage, one of the most discussed topics in the recently concluded IV Congress of the Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (Association of Writers and Artists from Cuba).

The results from this VI edition of the competition will be made known at the Sevilla Hotel, in occasion of the International Day of Monuments and Sites.
