Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso and Cuban National Ballet in Egypt
In statements to EFE news agency in Cairo and in front of the Giza Pyramids, Alicia Alonso pointed out that "you can never conclude all the projects you want, therefore I think I will live for another 200 years to do everything I still have left."

Alonso attended the staging by her company of the Don Quixote Ballet, with main roles interpreted by main ballerina Viengsay Valdes and many dancer Romel Frometa.

The Cheops pyramid and other historic monuments like the Sphinx witnessed the performance of the Cuban company. "This is a magic place, with an amazing past where arts and history are present, allowing the public to enjoy a privilege," said Alonso, who said that despite her age (86) she always tries to join her ballet company in every tour.

The Cuban National Ballet will also stage Don Quixote in the city of Alexandria to later travel to Spain on April 14, where it will perform in cities like Valencia, Barcelona and Leon.
