Important Cultural Changes in a Alamar, Neighborhood of the Havana.
So, on May 12, 1998 the Neighborhood Transformation Workshop was created. It was made up by three specialists who have, through their work with the community, to achieve the physical, social and environmental transformation of the community with the participation of the neighbors, political and mass organizations, starting always from the economic potentialities of the territory.

At first there were singing, guitar, dance, creativity through plastic arts, family education workshops. There were also workshops for adolescents and community work, which were directed towards children, young people, women and the entire family. One of the prioritized actions has been the attention to elderly people through the Subsidiary Universities, which have had a great acceptance and the number of elderly people in the classrooms increases every year.

There are also sewing workshops for women and girls, doll making, drawing, patches, papier mache and psychotherapy to elderly people.
