The Childrens Theatre Group "La Colmenita" to Participate in The Tenth World Festival of Children's Theatre.

The childrens theatre group "La Colmenita" has been selected to represent Cuba in the Tenth World Festival of Childrens Theatre, to be held in Moscow from July 17 to 25 under the motto "Children Performing for Children."
Led by Carlos Alberto Cremata, La Colmenita "a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador troupe" will perform along with representatives from another 20 countries, including England, Germany, Singapore, Italy, Burkina Faso, Israel, Bangladesh, India, Byelorussia, Indonesia, Russia, Faroe Islands and Croatia.
This will be the fifth time La Colmenita has participated in the worlds largest childrens theatre event. They have also performed in Toyama, Japan (2000), twice in Lingen, Germany, and in Havana, Cuba.
Cremata said to JR that the children of the group feel very lucky because "its the only children theatre group in the world that has been able to participate consecutively in the last five festivals, which are held every two years.
"These festivals, organized by the International Amateur Theatre Association under the auspices of UNICEF, gather the 21 most outstanding theatre groups from the five continents," said Cremata.
"Cinderella... according to the Beatles" is the show selected by the group to be performed at this Tenth Festival of Childrens Theatre. According to Cremata, "it wont only be performed in its bilingual version (English-Spanish), but 20 percent of it will be performed in Russian, as a special present to Russian children."
