Cuban writers Alexis Díaz Pimienta and Amado del Pino won international awards
Díaz Pimienta, famous in his country for being one of the most important improvisers of current days, won the First International Poetry Award Los Odres, with his book Fiesta de disfraces. The award is given in Murcia, Spain, by the Lopez Rejas Foundation, published Granma newspaper.

A jury presided over by the philologist, language academician and writer Gregorio Salvador Caja and made by the writers José María Álvarez, Horacio Vázquez-Rial and Emilio Torné Valle celebrated the use of the poetic resources and the tearing of the book written by Alexis Díaz Pimienta, as well as its liberty and the freedom in the conception of the poems.

At the same time, Amado del Pino, journalist, reporter and collaborator of several Cuban publications, won the Miguel Hernandez International Journalist award in Spain for and article about the Spanish poet, published in the Havana digital magazine, La Jiribilla.

According to the Miguel Hernández Foundation, with this award, they have recognised the article titulado "Caminando con Miguel Hernández" (Walking with Miguel Hernandez), published last May.
