Give new ideas for urban changes Architects in Camagüey, Cuba .
They were dedicated to the student leader José Antonio Echevarría, who headed the assault to the Presidential Palace on March 13th 1957.

The activity program got started with an audience related to the urban reanimation of "Maceo" Commercial Street, a preliminary plan presented by Wilfredo Rodríguez Ramos, who works at the Company of Projects for Engineering and Architecture 11, sponsored by the City Preservation Office (OHCC).

The amount of ideas showed by Rodríguez Ramos, seek rescuing the crowded blocks for the only use of pedestrians, since gastronomic and commercial offers have been included in the plan.

Experienced architects of Camagüey made reference on the preliminary proposal of urban changes; for example doctor Lourdes Gómez, National Award of Architecture, gave a conference on the World Heritage.

Another event was the inauguration of Expo-Arquitectura 2008 and a workshop presented to architecture students of the University of Camagüey.

Architect Osmar Vasallo Cañizares, president of the Provincial Branch of the National Union for Engineers and Architects of Cuba (UNAICC), highlighted that the Architecture Society in this province is one of the most important within the Island and its members stand out in their direct relation with the works of the program known as "Battle of Ideas", which are carried in this province out for improving the quality of their affiliates, and that also includes the raising of new professionals in Camagüey.
