Good Cuban music for the Cubas Caribe Girls in Venezuela
The Ultimas Notcias newspaper ran a front-page photograph of the group with the caption "Messengers of Peace." The concert, organized by the Venezuelan National Womens Institute under the slogan "women, sovereignty and peace," took place at the end of a march against violence that concluded in front of the National Pantheon (where the remains of South American Liberator Simon Bolivar rest).

A highlight of the show came when Caribe Girls were joined by Enrique Iriarte, the legendary pianist of Dimension Latina, and other Venezuelan musicians to perform Luis Martinez classic Quimbombo que resbala.

Caribe Girls is directed by keyboard player Thiving Guerra and was founded in 1999. They are known for maintaining a strong sense of Cuban sonority.
