Among the purposes of this mega-project is to know the variety of offers received by Cubans in cultural services, its aspirations and the behavior of these tendencies over the last decade.

"We aim to identify cultural availabilities, offers and shortages in order to diagnose how involved are Cubans in the humane cultural development of the Revolution"- pointed out Rolando González, director of the Instituto Cubano de Investigaciones Culturales Juan Marinello.

In declarations to Prensa Latina, the director highlighted that the current investigation also aims to see the impact of the new technologies in the increase of the cultural consumption among the different publics.

"This research project, in relation to the previous one , will be broader and it will reach not just the rural sector, but also the urban one. Also, the minimum age range will decrease to 12 years old," pointed out González.

The second national survey on cultural consumption is part of the research projects of the Cuban Ministry for Culture.
