More than three million texts have been sold out in the International Book Fair of Cuba
More than three million texts have been sold out in the International Book Fair that concludes this Sunday in the eastern provinces, Camagüey and Ciego de Ávila.

Iroel Sánchez, president of the Cuban Book Institute, stated that was sold in the whole country in 2006, what constitutes a qualitative image for the event.

Sánchez highlighted that another of the characteristics of the Fair is the quantity of activities it carried out and he pondered the example of Las Tunas City, where the event also take place in several centers of Higher Education, the pediatric hospital, and the prisons, what makes it bigger.

The president of the Cuban Book Institute said that the Cuban reader is more and more informed and is more selective, because they receive by the media a previous information about what they could buy.

Accompanied by the minister of Culture, Abel Prieto, Iroel Sánchez went all over the Fair in Las Tunas, and had an encounter with writers and artists from the province, some 670 kilometers from Havana.

The International Book Fair concludes Sunday, and in Las Tunas more than 500, 000 copies have been sold out, figure that shows the public's acceptance for so important event.
