Havana Historian was granted the Sebati-Ter International Award in the category of Architecture

Havana Historian Eusebio Leal was granted the Sebati-Ter International Award in the category of Architecture for his work in favor of the restoration and preservation of Old Havana.

This award recognizes Cuba’s systematic work to preserve this place, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, and particularly the work of Leal, who heads the restoration works and who is also a cultural promoter.

Leal will receive the award next May during a ceremony at the Royal Music Conservatory of Naples, Italy.

The Center for Culture and Arts Studies of Naples, a nonprofit institution for the promotion of literary and artistic creation, was founded by Joaquin Murat, King of Naples, in 1805. One of its first members was renowned musician Domenico Scarlatti.

Men such as Giuseppe Garibaldi and Giuseppe Manzani found in this center, which at that time had to go underground, an ally in the defense of national unity.
