The exhibition is made by over 25 works that are the winners of the competition called by the humoristic supplement Melaito of the Vanguardia newspaper from Villa Clara province. The competition pays tribute to the deceased plastic artist and creator of the famous Criollitas de Wilson.

This event will be useful to gather together all the humorist from the Cuban capital on last Saturday of every month, while it will promote exchange, debates and exhibition of young talents, said Pedro Viñas, director of the Palante newspaper, in the opening ceremony.

Viñas assured that the project will be a leafy tree that will take in all the fighters for just causes of humanity, such as Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, one of the Five Cuban Heroes injailed in US prisons for fighting against terrorism.

He remembered that Hernández Nordelo wrote the book El amor y el humor todo lo pueden (Love and humor can everything), a text that collects 18 of his works published at the Palante magazine and that are a critic to US politic.

Among the artists who take part in this event are: Enrique Lacoste, Juan Carlos Pedreira, Alfredo Martinera Hernández and Félix Alberto Linares.
