Forty Dominican students will study at the Latin American School of Medicine in Cuba

The 20 women and 20 men live in the country"s four cardinal points and come from low income families.
The Dominican society will follow these young people's studies with enthusiasm and interest, said Gilberto Disla, director of Students Affairs in the Higher Education Department.
They will return with human values and a warm technique that will allow them to face problems, said Dr. Bautista Rojas, Public Health Secretary.
The educational collaboration between Cuba and Dominican Republic began in the 90s and resulted in graduation of dozens of professionals, all on full scholarship.
ELAM is an initiative of Cuban President Fidel Castro to provide disadvantaged students, including those from the United States, the possibility to study medicine.
