Four Art Instructors of Cuba won the 2008 Olga Alonso Award
Out of the 29 national proposals there are 25 instructors and 4 in the category of institutions. The jury decided to give priority to the instructors since they have the direct responsibility in the spiritual growth of the people.

Felina Collado, dance specialists of Pinar del Rio, Nilsa Enith González in the music specialty of Havana City, Idania María Mirón from Camaguey in Plastic Arts and Edith Aguilera a theatre graduate from Holguin, were the winners in this edition.

The selected creators have several distinctions for their participation and organization of festivals and competitions for the community development, such as the Raul Gómez García Medal and the Distinction for the National Culture.

The award ceremony will be held at the José Marti Brigade of arts instructors (BJMIA, after its initials in Spanish) next 16 of February in Granma.

That same day will be recognized the work of the over 13 thousand art instructors from all over the country.

As every year the award ceremony will end with a pilgrimage to the tomb of the deceased instructor Olga Alonso on the 18 of February, his birth date.
