Cuba Organizers of the 6th University World Forum 2008
According to figures released by the Organizing Committee, at least 1500 academicians, professors and foreign researchers will take part in a five-day debate on the wualityof higher education.

Among the largest delegations are Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Italy and Cuba.

The agenda of the meeting, running until Feb 15 at the Havana Convention Palace, includes the attention to the 21st Century's university in order to improve teaching level, social inclusion and membership in higher education.

The meeting will be attended by personalities including George Haddad, Director of Higher Education of the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO), the distinguished Brazilian intellectual Frei Betto and US lawyer Cindy O Hara, a fighter for the release of the Five Cuban antiterrorists Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Rene Gonzalez and Fernando Gonzalez, unjustly imprisoned in the United States.

It will be a bright opportunity for Cuban universities' deans to meet separately with peers from Bolivia, Brazil, Italy and Mexico.
