Winners of Loynaz and Villaverde Contests in Pinar del Rio City, Cuba.
The westernmost province was the third with most participants, with a total of 21 works presented in the competition, sponsored since 1989 by Hermanos Loynaz Center for the Promotion and Development of Literature.

Four works of Pinar got mentions at the event: El divertir de los dislates, by Angel Clausell García; Intento de encerrona, by Anice Figueroa and Luis Amaury Rodriguez; Con la luna en el bolsillo by Mariene Lufriú and Campanas y semillas, by Onieisis Gil Cruz.

The prizes were awarded to Michel Encinosa (Havan City) for the selection of short stories El cadillac rojo and La gran mentira; to Carmen Barbara Hernandez (Ciego de Avila) for the book of poems Escuerzos and to Raul Hernandez (Havana) for La trampa del tomeguin

In Cirilo Villaverde contest Michel Encinosa won the first prize too for Todos tenemos un mal día. The mention was to Osmany Oduardo from Las Tunas province, for La carroña.

The awards ceremony will be held next February 27 at Ateneo bookstore as part of the activities for the XVII International Book Fair.
