Computerizing the hope
Festivals on free softwares, exchange with combatants, chess tournaments and the project "The family and the computer" are part of the activities of the Community Computer Clubs of this province to celebrate the triumph of the Revolution and the seventh anniversary of the reinauguration of the Computer Palace by Fidel.

According to Ramón Fernández Pedraja, provincial deputy head of the program, new services and additional classrooms in Mantua, Viñales, San Crsitobal and San Juan join the activities, in order to facilitate every family the access to computers.

"In these moments, 39 of our 40 centers allow the users to surf the national net, and 21 of them are available 24 hours.

The Community Computer Clubs in the province count on 445 computers and 251 instructors in charge of providing the service. Plus, a mobile unit to reach intricate communities.

Pinar del Rio was recognized as outstanding center in the national emulation last year on the ocassion of the XX anniversary of the Computer Clubs, and they have strengthen their work aimed at computerizing the society.
