Las Tunas Works to Achieve Agricultural Growths in 2008
Producing some 115, 000 tons of foods, in the current 2008, is one of the main objectives of the System of the Agriculture in this eastern province of Las Tunas to elevate the suppy to the population.

According to a wire from the Cuban News Agency with that figure the consumers might receive directly some 12 pounds of foods monthly, without including the social consumption in hospitals, schools, and other social entities.

This year the farmers also foresee to increase the production of meat, mainly pork, which might surpass in some 300 tons in comparison with what they produced in 2007, the same as the honey, the charcoal, and other exportable resources that generate foreign currencies to the national economy.

The agricultural producers from Las Tunas, whipped by an intense and long drought, work to avoid economic losses and to improve the labor discipline, and to take advantage of the kindness of the nature, because the adverse climate has been a constant characteristic in this province, the the most affected by the lack of rains in Cuba.
