Maravilla de Florida officially launches a new CD
During the last few days of the year, the members of the Maravilla de Florida Orchestra, standard bearer of the Cuban popular music in this province, will be celebrating, giving concerts and launching their most recent recording production "Luchando con fe" in Camagüey, maestro Norberto Puente Quintana told press.

The announcement occurs when the Orchestra enters its 60th birth and joins the list of artists that along Cuba will be livening up the celebrations, in occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Revolution.

After the local audience filled up the Plaza de la Libertad on Tuesday night, Maravilla repeated a successful concert yesterday at the Teatro Principal in town. In the following days (Dec 27, 28 and 29) they will move to the northeastern province of Holguin, where concerts have been scheduled in the city of Mayarí.

Recorded at the EGREM studios and produced by its former musician Manolito Simonet, "Luchando con fe" is a CD containing 10 tracks, where authentic Cuban genres and styles prevail.

With the success of having been nominated during the past edition of Cubadisco 2007 in the category of current popular dance music and promoted in Europe, Maravilla also readies to play in its hometown, Florida on the upcoming December 30th.

Among the projects for the year 2008 with the national label Colibrí, the orchestra will record a CD featuring a retrospective of the Cuban popular music. It is a project that will be supported by the Institute of Music and the distinguished Camagüeyan musician Adalberto Álvarez.
