The restoration of Cuban Villa is projected
Builders and representatives of state organizations are projecting the start this month, as a first stage of the restoration of the patrimony sites of Villa Clara.

The start of the actions will allow the conservation of the buildings with high architectonic value in the historical centre of the city, declared National Monument in 1980. In this area there are old buildings that revive a time of development of the sugar industry.

Rogelio Acosta, secretary of the administration council at the Municipality Assembly of Peoples Power, said to AIN that in a first stage there will be works in a housing area with cultural interest and in the Historic Museum Francisco Javier Balmaceda, founded in February 1933 and the fifth in the country.

The restoration proposal includes the Jose Marti Park, created as Queen Isabel II Square in 1815, as well as its environment that includes the cafeteria El Louvre, opened in the second half of the 19th century, that still has its original function.

Acosta explained that the street lighting is included in a plan that must be made with the necessary rigor to save the installations and will be carry out during next year.

On the other hand the Tourism Ministry anticipates building works that include the extension of Mascotte Hotel, built in 1850.
