The Venezuelan film "Miranda regresa" (Miranda returns) by Luis Alberto Lamata, one of the main attractions of the Havana Cinema Festival, will be screened at the capital's Karl Marx Theater Tuesday.

The film, based on the book "Francisco de Miranda," precursor of Latin American independence, tackles the most outstanding moments of the Caracas leader, a historic figure of the past supported by present reality.

"Miranda regresa" is the first movie produced by the "Villa del Cine" Foundation from that country, with a cast of 120 actors, Jorge Reyes in the main role, and 1,200 extras.

Today's agenda also includes another Venezuelan film "Postales de Leningrado" by Mariana Rondon, and two from Mexico, "Dos abrazos" by Enrique Begne, and "Cochochi" by Laura Amelia Guzman and Israel Cardenas.
