The ambassador of Argentina in Cuba, Mr. Dario Pedro Alessandro gave, at the seat of the Cuban National Ballet, to Alicia Alonso, general director of the company, the ACE award delivered by the Association of Reporters of the Show, to the Cuban choreographic version of the Don Quijote Ballet that was selected as the best foreign show presented in the country, in the 206 - 2007 season.

Don Quijote ballet (Choreography by Alicia Alonso, artistic - choreography direction by Marta Garcia and Maria Elena Llorente on the original by Marius Petipa and the version of Alexander Gorski, Music by Ludwig Minkus, Script and design by Salvador Fernandez) has been part of the active repertoire of the Cuban company since its premiere the 6th of July 1988 at the Garcia Lorca Hall of the Great Theatre of Havana and has been successfully presented in several countries, such as USA, Spain, Holland, England and Egypt among many others with surprising responses of the public and the specialised critic that has qualified the version as an authentic exercise of the fusion between the traditional dance and the modern proposals based on strict rules of the classic ballet.

This new award is added to the multiple recognitions the Cuban National Ballet and its director Alicia Alonso have received in the 60 years of existence of the company.
