The governor of the Nigerian state of Ekiti, Olosegun Oni, is paying a visit to Cuba aimed at further strengthening bilateral friendship relations and exploring cooperation opportunities with the island.

Governor Oni and his delegation will take a first hand look at the advancement of public health and the pharmaceutical sectors on the island. The visitors also expect to establish cooperation relations with Cuba in the field of sports.

The Nigerian delegation, which arrived in Cuba last Sunday, will also look at possibilities for the exchange of expertise in other social and economic fields, such as the rational use of energy.

Olosegun Oni will visit Cuban hospitals and medical research centers as part of his visit to Cuba. Ekiti is one of Nigeria's 36 states.
