The Palabras de Invierno (Winter Words) Award for a whole life`s work as well as the condition of Maestro Emérito de la Oralidad (Master of Merit of Orality), were conferred to Eusebio Leal Spengler, one of the most charismatic personalities of the Cuban cultural environment, in the Entre Puentes activity.

Before an audience which overcrowded the Museum Palace of Junco, the Historian of Havana City was acknowledged by "his qualities as social communicator and his labour in favour of spreading history and culture" on behalf of the Matanzas venue of the Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (UNEAC) (Association of Artists and Writers of Cuba) and the Esperanza (Hope) group of oral narration.

During the activity Eusebio expressed that he is always concernrd for heritage: "When someone tells me that I have restored Old Havana, I almost blush off, due to everything I have to do yet" . But he also assured that he witnesses his relay coming from the younger generation.

Speaking in a familiar and friendly mood, he told several stories, some funny, others sad, concerning his poor boy childhood in Havana: his school, his early teachers, and those times when he worked in the garage located in Zanja and Hospital streets to earn just a few pennies.
This Entre Puentes was part of the activities of the Palabras de Invierno (Winter Words) Third Festival of Oral Narration. The Argentine storytellers Estrella Masiel and Liliana Meier, and the vocal quintets Creación and Opus V.

As part of his visit to Matanzas, Leal Spengler visited different interesting places of the city, such as the Pharmaceutical Museum, the House of the UNEAC, the site of the Asociación Cubana de Artesanos Artistas, (Cuban Association of Handcraft Artists), among others.
