More than 2 Million Tourists Visit Cuba in 2007

The Cuban tourist destination will surpass two million visitors for the fourth consecutive year, confirming the island as one of the main options in the Caribbean, the Cuban News Agency reported Friday.

Deputy Tourism Minister Maria Elena Lopez said that most of foreign markets will rise at the end of this period.

The deputy minister commented on the recognized quality of this island's beaches and variety of nature, culture and history.

Lopez attended the second session of the 18th Congress of the French Association of Travel Agencies (AFAT-VOYAGES), underway at the 944 room "Playa Pesquero" Hotel.

To learn more of Cuba's nature, culture and history is the essential aim of this Congress, which could create guidelines to raise French visitors to the island, Jean Pierre Mas, president of the gala agency, noted.

AFAT-VOYAGES, created in 1988, has over 600 sale points and it is considered the first French network of travel agencies.
