In an effort to increase efficiency in irrigation and lower the use of fuel and water, 104 new electrical center-pivot irrigation systems will be installed on Havana farms.

Renan Barreras, assistant director of the Ministry of Agriculture for the province, said the majority of the equipment is already in the country and the rest is due to arrive by December 15.

In order to install the large number of irrigation systems in the shortest possible time, specialized brigades from other provinces will join in the work alongside the local farmers.
