Holguin to Host International Tourism Convention
The 18th AFAT-VOYAGES Convention will take place from November 13 to 16 in Holguin, Cuba. The meeting aims to promote Cuba as a tourist destination, especially Bariay, on the north coast of Cuba where Christopher Colombus landed on October 27, 1492.

According to Hugo Huget, representative of the Ministry of Tourism in Holguin, the event will gather more than 500 representatives from different parts of the World, including managers of travel agencies, journalists and personalities from the entertainment industry.

During the event, participants will visit different touristic places including Aldea Taina in Chorro de Maita; Cayo Bariay and the Dolphin Center in Naranjo Bay, among other places of historical and social significance in the province.

The marathon "Turismo para el desarrollo" will take place Friday 16, beginning at the Playa Pesquero Hotel, the largest hotel in Cuba and ending at the Mililla community, located some three and a half kilometers Playa Pesquero.

Workshops and debates will take place during the first day of the meeting, while the opening and the first plenary activity of the event will take place in the afternoon. The closing ceremony will be held on Friday 16.

The group AFAT Voyages, was founded in 1988 and is considered the first French network of travel agencies.
