Minister for Sports of Saint Lucia is visiting Cuba
Honorable Lenard Spider Montoute Minister for Sports of Saint Lucia arrived in Havana for a working visit until Sunday.
In statements to Prensa Latina Spider Montoute indicated he came to review the situation of the relations with the National Institute of Sports INDER and to establish some agreements to resume the consultancy of Cuban trainers.
I hope that our visit allows strengthening ties among the peoples and governments of both countries and it marks the beginning of a group of visits of officials of his country to Cuba.
The Minister mentioned education, social development and sports sectors as vital areas of the bilateral collaboration and he specified the interest in counting with the cooperation of Cuban trainers of basketball, volleyball, athletics and boxing.
In the opinion of the also ex-runner of 800 meters, the Caribbean will have an important representation with Cuba, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Trinidad and Tobago at the top in Beijing-2008 Olympic Games.
During his stay in Havana, Spider Montoute will visit the International School of Physical Education and the Center for Training of High Performance Athletes Cerro Pelado, among other places of interest.
