Both heads of state exchanged on the history of Cuba and Venezuela, the solid and increasing bilateral relations between both countries, the current situation in Latin America and the challenges facing humankind.
In their conversation, Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez dedicated a special moment to talk about Cuban-Argentinean guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara, about his heroic life and his revolutionary principles.
On Sunday, the Venezuelan President will air his TV and radio program "Alo Presidente" from the city of Santa Clara, in the Cuban central province of Villa Clara, from where Chavez will pay tribute to Che Guevara.
The TV show is transmitted 'en vivo' at 11:00 a.m. on Cuban international channel Cubavision, and on Radio Havana Cuba, plus other local Cuban channels. President Hugo Chavez arrived in Havana early on Saturday and he was welcomed at Havana's Jose Marti International Airport by Cuban Vice-president Carlos Lage and by Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque .
