Cuba open to respectful talks with US
Cuba's Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque said on Tuesday that Cuba is ready to dialogue with the United States, if respectful of its sovereignty and rights; otherwise, it will continue resisting the blockade for a thousand years.

Cuba has not been brought to its knees nor will it be made to do so in the future, stressed Cuba's top diplomat, while presenting to journalists accredited to Havana a report on the need to put an end to the blockade that affects the Island's social and economic life.

He said the US blockade denies access to financial resources, violates the rights of children and causes suffering to the Cuban people, so it is a policy of genocide in line with objectives pursued by Washington.

The US blockade is the main obstacle to our economic development, causing over $89 billion in damages, as a very conservative estimate, said Perez Roque.
