In Cuba co-president of german left

The Co-President of the German Left, Oskar Lafontaine, arrived in Havana for a working visit at the invitation of the Central Committee of Cuba's Communist Party.

According to Granma news daily, the recently created German Party of the Left is the result of the merger between the Part of the Democratic Socialism and the Electoral Alliance Party for Labor and Social Justice and it has become the third political power with representation in the German Parliament.

During his stay in Cuba, Lafontaine, who heads a delegation that includes other leaders of the German Left, will meet with leaders of the Cuban government, high-ranking officials of the Cuban Communist Party and representatives of social and grass-root organizations.

Upon their arrival, the visitors were welcomed Oscar Martinez Cordoves, deputy head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Central Committee of Cuba's Communist Party.
