Raul Castro to address 26 July rally
Cuba's First Vice President Raul Castro will speak on Thursday at the central act for the Anniversary of the Attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Garrisons, to be staged at the Cuban province of Camaguey.
The ceremony will begin at 7:30 am local time at Maj. Gen. Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz Revolution Square of that province, 330 miles east of Havana.
According to Granma daily, more than 100,000 Camaguey residents are expected to attend the act for the 54th anniversary of this event.
Veterans of those historic actions and participants in the expedition of Granma, yacht in which fighters arrived in Cuba from Mexico in December 1956, will also take part in the anniversary ceremony.
During the patriotic celebration, Camaguey Province will receive the flag for achieving the distinction of the venue for the 26th of July.
