Solidarity caravan to Cuba goes on
Poems and songs were the prelude to the arrival to this Mexican port in Tamaulipas state of the 18th US-Cuba Solidarity Caravan that with a friendship message travels to the island Thursday.

Nearly 150 caravan members arrived in at midnight and immediately went to the dock to unload over 60 tons of humanitarian aid, thus defying the Washington blockade to Havana.

Victor Vargas, coordinator in this country of the Pastors for Peace group, told Prensa Latina that activists from US, Canada and other nations, together with dozens of Mexicans, are expected to travel to Cuba today by air.

The Pastors for Peace group faces up this way the US economic, trade and financial blockade against Cuba and restrictions currently imposed to the island by the Bush government.
