Cuba to celebrate Chinese Culture Festival
The event includes the screening of full-length films and documentaries, art exhibitions, concerts and dance shows.

In statements to the press, the cultural counselor at China's embassy in Cuba, Zheng Kejun, said the films to be screened during the festival were recently shot by prestigious directors who reflected in their work the reality of everyday life in China.

Zheng Kejun also noted that the photo exhibition "Harmonious China" will feature the contrast between natural landscapes and big cities, as well as the industrial progress attained by that country over the last few years.

Another art exhibition, "Chinese Legacy," includes papier maché pieces, paintings and miniatures.

Likewise, Cuban bands and theater companies will perform as part of the program of the festival to commemorate the 160 anniversary of the Chinese presence on the island.

The program also includes exhibitions of traditional medicine, food preparations and martial arts, as well as a drawing contest for children.

Zheng Kejun praised the close relations existing between his country and Cuba in the fields of education, economy and sports.
