Led by the baseball and boxing Olympic and World champions, this Tuesday the Cuban delegation attended the raising of the national flag at the Pan-American Village in Rio de Janeiro.

"We dont have the slightest doubt that we will finish in second place and with an advantage," confirmed José Ramón Fernández, president of the Cuban Olympic Committee at the end of the ceremony.

"This afternoon, 420 of the 470 athletes that make up the delegation were present. They are going to compete in the purest athletic and friendly spirit that unites the Cuban and Brazilian people," added Fernández.
